Press Release: ‘Before and Beyond Auschwitz’
On Wednesday 23 February, Dr Loredana Guerrieri and Prof. Claudio Gaetani of the University of Macerata will present the results of her EU-funded project, ‘Before and Beyond Auschwitz’ at Bangor University.
The research explores how the Auschwitz can be considered as the paradigm most representative of the twentieth century.
The project is funded by the European Commission’s Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA) under its “Europe for Citizens Programme – Action 4 – Active European Remembrance”.
The visit to Bangor is part of a tour which includes the University of Macerata, the University of Utrecht, the University of Edinburgh, Universidad de Oviedo (España) and the ARTEM Foundation in Bratislava.
Dr. Laura Rorato, Senior Lecturer in Italian, said, “We are very excited about Dr. Guerrieri’s visit to Bangor as it will showcase and cement the University’s extensive European research links”.
